Serving A Sentence

If you are convicted of a crime and are sentenced to serve time in the Lincoln County Jail your report date/time will be listed on your Judgement of Conviction. (JOC) You MUST report to the Lincoln County Jail Lobby on or before the date/time listed on your JOC. In some cases the sentencing judge will order that you report directly to the Lincoln County Jail, in these cases you will not receive a copy of your JOC.

If you fail to report to the Lincoln County Jail on or before the date/time the sentencing judge orders you may be charged with “Failure to Report to Jail” Wisconsin State Statute 946.425.

When you report to jail please do not be under the influence of alcohol or other drugs. If you are taking any prescription medications you must bring them in their original container with the original label containing your name, medication name, dosage instructions, prescribing physician and the date and quantity filled. Not all medications will be allowed for use in the Lincoln County Jail. Only medications approved by our medical staff will be allowed. It is best to contact the Lincoln County Jail Nursing Staff between 8:00 am and 11:00 pm Monday through Friday at 715-536-6275 to discuss your medications.

Inmates are charged a $25.00 booking fee when reporting to serve a sentence in the Lincoln County Jail. There will also be a charge of $4.50 for the indigent pack that is issued to ALL inmates containing Hygiene items for use by the inmate during the first few days of incarceration. After the initial indigent pack all hygiene items for use in the Lincoln County Jail MUST be ordered through commissary. Indigent inmates will be allowed to order refill kits of the indigent pack through commissary. The inmates account will be charged for the refill pack causing the inmates account to go into debt. A portion of any funds deposited on the inmates account will then go to that debt until it is paid in full. If the debt is not paid in full before the inmates release they will be given a debt letter with instructions on how to pay the debt. Debt not paid by the inmate will go to collections.
