Underdown Recreation Area

Recreation Area - Horse and Bike Trails

Trail Descriptions

Enjoy horseback riding, hiking, biking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling.

Bike trails located in the Underdown Recreation Area have sections that are very challenging and are not for the novice rider. The signed horse trails are available for the beginning bike rider or for family outings. Please yield the right of way to horses when meeting on the horse trail.

Horseback riding is one of the main activities in this area. With over 20 miles of signed trails and 10 campsites large enough to accommodate trucks with trailers, this has become a popular destination for horseback riders.

Cross-country skiing has been the main winter activity in this area. Over 20 miles of ski trails consisting of several loops with varying degrees of difficulty make this system appealing to skiers of all skill levels. Trails are groomed weekly when snow conditions allow.  Volunteers have established Fat Bike and Snowshoe trails in recent years adding to the variety of winter sports available here.
