Underdown Campground

Underdown Campsite

Don’t want to pause your adventure to go back home for the night?  Visit the Underdown campground to experience a beautifully rustic night in the Northwoods.

Campsites

The Underdown has 11 primitive campsites available that are large enough to accommodate trucks with trailers.  Campsites are on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations.

The camping fee is $20.00 per night with self registration on site. Year-round camping is allowed.

A hand water pump and pit toilets are located off the east end of the main parking lot and two sanitary dump stations are available for a fee for Underdown Recreation Area campers: Merrill Wastewater Treatment Plant and Council Grounds State Park.

Firewood

To help prevent the spread of the Emerald Ash Borer and other invasive pests and diseases, Lincoln County Forestry Department provides campfire wood for the County's campgrounds but you must bring your own saw.

We ask that you not bring firewood to our campgrounds from more than 10 miles away from the campground or property.
