POSITION OVERVIEW: 

Provides public health nursing services to individuals, families, and population groups. Duties include school nursing, communicable disease follow-up, immunizations, jail nursing, oral health services, and maternal and child health. Nursing activities include, but are not limited to, analysis of health data, care plan development for the school health settings, vaccinations, health screening and follow-up, health education and advocacy, coalition building and collaborating with community partners to promote the health of a population. The public health nurse can be expected to assist in the provision of public health services in the event of a public health emergency.

Qualifications:

Minimum two year nursing degree required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing school preferred. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Wisconsin required. One to two years’ experience in public health nursing preferred.

Must have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license, proof of insurance  and a good driving record.

Wage: 

Starting wage of $24.16 to $27.68 per hour depending on level of nursing degree.
