Department: Clerk of Courts

Appearance is not required on most traffic and ordinance tickets unless otherwise indicated.

If you do not appear in court on the date printed on your ticket, you will be defaulted as guilty by no contest and allowed 60 days to pay your ticket.

If you wish to try to make a settlement with the District Attorney's office you will need to submit a not guilty plea to the Clerk of Court's office before the court date that appears on your citation. Not guilty pleas will be accepted by mail or fax. About 3 weeks after the date on your ticket you will receive a notice of hearing for a court trial. At this time you can either contact the District Attorney's office at 715-536-0339 or wait for an offer through the mail from the District Attorney's office.
