Newborn Postpartum Home Visits
Lincoln County's Health Department Newborn Postpartum Home Visits Program is provided to all Lincoln County residents on a voluntary basis to assist new parents after the birth of their child. Visits are arranged at home for convenience and personal one-on-one attention. An assessment of the mother and baby is completed to identify and address any health concerns. A variety of health and parenting topics are discussed, including caring for the newborn, nutritional needs and feeding, safety issues, family planning options, breastfeeding, postpartum depression and development of the newborn.

Parenting the First Year Newsletter
Becoming a parent is an exciting change in your life, but it can be a stressful and trying time, too. To answer questions new parents might have, all residents of Lincoln County receive a complimentary subscription of "Parenting the First Year" and "Parenting the Second and Third Year" newsletters. These newsletters are provided in cooperation with the Lincoln County UW-Extension, Lincoln County Health Department and Merrill Area Public Schools. The newsletters contain the latest information on child development, child guidance, language development, nutrition, health, safety, child care, changes in family life and much more. For your convenience and to help defray costs, this newsletter is now available electronically. You would receive an email each month that links to the newsletter specific to their child's age. If you are interested, register for free email delivery at www.parenting.uwex.edu. After registering, call the Health Department at 536-0307 to have your name removed from our monthly mailing list.
