Immunization Program   « Back

Routine health care should include immunizations whether they come from your personal health care provider or from your local health department. The full range of childhood immunizations as well as adult tetanus is provided at monthly clinics in Tomahawk and Merrill. A $10 donation is requested unless you are covered by Medicaid/ BadgerCare. All Lincoln County residents are eligible for these vaccines. TB Skin testing, Adult Hepatitis A, Adult Hepatitis B, and Adult Flu vaccine are available for a small fee.

Immunize on Schedule
Immunizing your children is one of the best things you can do to keep them healthy. Since childhood diseases are especially dangerous for infants, it is important to start your child's immunizations on time. Children need 80% of their vaccinations in the first two years of their lives. This usually takes 5 visits to a health care provider.

Recommended Immunization Schedule
Lincoln County Health Department follows the recommended schedule as suggested by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to ensure maximum protection for your child. Parents should maintain a permanent immunization history on their child since these records will be needed for entrance to school/daycare. Visit http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/schedules/index.html for a copy of the required immunization schedule.

Wisconsin School Immunization Law
State law requires that all public and private school and daycare students present written evidence of immunizations against certain diseases within 30 days of admission. These requirements can be waived only if a properly signed health, religious, or personal conviction waiver is filed with the school/daycare.

Vaccine Information Statements
VISs are information sheets produced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that explain to vaccine recipients, their parents, or their legal representatives both the benefits and risks of a vaccine. Please refer to this link for copies of the VIS sheets for the vaccines provided at Lincoln County Health Department. http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/hcp/vis/index.html
