On its own, an ash borer moves a half to 2 miles per year. The most likely way EAB has moved through one state to another is through accidental transport of infested firewood, nursery stock, and unprocessed logs.
To help prevent the spread of the Emerald Ash Borer through the transporting of firewood, Lincoln County Forestry Department provides campfire wood for the County's campgrounds.
Anyone who suspects a possible EAB infestation can call 1-800-462-2803.
